If you are an owner within the Marean Lake Resort (formerly the McCrea or MLR Resort) you should have received an email yesterday with planned changes to docking in the marina, boat launch fees and daily docking. If you are an owner and didn’t receive the email, please click here to get added. While we post general information on this website and the Facebook page, for many issues we prefer to communicate directly with owners through email.

The Marean Lake Advisory Committee (MLAC) is seeking proposals for a service contract for the provision of resort maintenance activities between May 1 – September 30, 2017. Interested parties are invited to respond.
Key responsibilities could include: maintenance of all municipal and environmental reserves within the resort subdivision (including mowing, trimming, beach cleanup, garbage and fish filleting removal, etc), basic maintenance of resort buildings and equipment including operation of the water system, installation and removal of swim buoys and beach equipment, assisting with the installation and removal of docks owned by the RM, and coordination of general maintenance of roads, signs and walking paths.
The successful applicant will determine their own schedule, although it is expected that some responsibilities will involve consistent and timely daily activity during June, July and August and with reduced frequency in May and September.

Sadly, more incidents of theft and vandalism have occurred at Marean Lake, In the last few days a number of new incidents have been reported: a quad was stolen and a number of windows were broken. The damage within the Marean Lake Resort appears to have been along Camp Road, but thefts were also reported in the Marean Lake Valley Resort (Woulfe/Gaetz development).
Contact the RCMP in Kelvington (306) 327-1200 or Rose Valley (306) 322-2550 if your property has been impacted.
Over the last couple weeks there have been a number of break-ins reported at Bjorkdale, Porcupine Plain and Marean Lake, including a least a couple in our resort. RCMP have suggested a few basic tips to help improve the security of your cabin: ensuring that all windows are closed, locked and covered by blinds; and installing a light on a timer in the cabin that turns on at dark and off again late at night or in the morning.

With winter freeze up approaching, plans are in place to remove the public boat launch dock and the resort owned docks (north of the boat launch) shortly after the October long weekend, sometime between Oct 11th and the 14th.
Bob’s Place, the store at Marean Lake Resort, is adjusting hours for the remainder of the season.
While the Store will not be open during the week, the showers/laundry will still be available and daily boat docking can still be booked by calling or texting 306-322-7974 or 306-322-7238 with payment on the weekend.

This summer vandals have stolen and damaged all the street signs in our resort.
These signs play a critical role when it comes to safety and the ability of emergency vehicles and first responders to find locations quickly when needed. They are also costly to replace, at taxpayer expense, and needlessly divert funds allocated for other purposes.
MLAC and the RM of Bjorkdale take all acts of vandalism very seriously and anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact any member of MLAC or the RCMP. Please report vandalism so we can try to stop this from occurring in the future.
