The waste bins stationed permanently at Marean Lake are only intended for Household garbage. Each year from early May to early June additional temporary bins are brought in and placed in the beach parking area, these are specifically for metal recycling and leaves/branches. The are free for the use of cabin owners.

Construction materials and items like mattresses are NEVER allowed in any of the bins. The RM of Bjorkdale operates a transfer facility in Peesane where you can transport some materials at your own expense. Note that only SMALL amounts of construction materials are allowed to be delivered to the Peesane facility. If you have larger amounts you will be required to make your own arrangements for a bin from Greenland Waste.

Each year an election is held to fill one or more of the 5 positions on the Marean Lake Advisory Committee (MLAC). This year Bert Desrosiers’ current term expired and all owners were contacted by email to solicit nominations for his replacement.

The nomination period has now closed. One nomination was received, from Bert Desrosiers who chose let his name stand again for re-election. Since there was only one position open, Bert will be acclaimed for a 4 year term and there is no need for an election to be held.

On behalf of all owners within the Marean Lake community, the RM of Bjorkdale would like to thank Bert for his continued service.

Given the importance of electronic communication we expect many owners within our resort will be interested in this alternative and we wanted to make sure you are aware of it. RFNOW has notified the Municipality that their team will begin visiting properties starting in March as part of the upcoming fiber Internet expansion project.

Once again the Marean Lake Advisory Committee, Klinger’s Trail and Christ the King Camp have partnered to provide some winter fun on December 27th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please join us for our 4th annual winter festival!

Similar to last year, there will be horse-drawn sleigh rides on the trail, a large bonfire, free hot dogs, coffee and hot chocolate. This will all take place on the Christ the King green space (near the start of both Klinger’s and the cross country ski trail) which will be plowed for parking of vehicles and snowmobiles.

Depending on the snow conditions, this would also be a great time to try out the cross-country ski trail if you haven’t already done so. It’s located on Christ the King land and also starts by the green space (please only use it for skiing, no walking or snowshoeing since that damages the ski track).

Please note that the fish cleaning facility near the beach will be closing for the season on Sept 15, 2025.

Re-testing of the water at the beach has been completed and the advisory has been lifted.

The 2025 Marean Lake Canada Day parade with be on Saturday June 28.  Parade will start at 1 pm.  All participants in the parade please meet up at the Clubhouse parking lot on the Woulfe side at 12:30 and be ready for the 1:00 start. 

The route will go from the Clubhouse parking lot, up to McCrea Road (the 2^nd road) and down Lakeside Road (the 1^st road) and we will finish at the Booth and beach parking lot. 

Canada Day cake will be served from The Booth concession stand at 2:00 pm.

Fireworks to celebrate the end of Marean Lake’s Canada Day Celebration will be starting at dusk, on Saturday.
