Time to Remove Ice Fishing Shelters

March 31st is the Provincial deadline for removal of ice fishing shacks from the lake, but with the unseasonably warm weather it may be desirable to get that done earlier.

Please remember to clean up all debris at your site, anything left on the ice either becomes a hazard for boats once the ice is gone or pollutes the lake. Let’s keep Marean Lake clean!

Drainage Plan

The RM of Bjorkdale has released a drainage plan prepared for our resort. If you are an owner within the resort (the sub-division that contains the beach) and have not received an email regarding the drainage plan, please click this link and sign up.

ROAD CLOSURE!

The RM has closed the NORTH end of the Marean Lake Road, and it will remain closed until further notice. On Thursday June 27 the mile and a half south of the Marean Lake entrance will be graveled and ready for the weekend.

Road Advisory

The RM of Bjorkdale has been doing grading work on grid road 679 and travellers may want to avoid parts of it.

The section of the road that runs north of the Marean Lake turnoff through to the intersection with grid road 773 (McKague to Chelan) has been graded to bring the shoulders back up onto the road surface. It has been reported to be very rough in sections and may be now be muddy and slippery given the rain we are currently receiving.

Grid road 679 south of the Marean Lake turnoff is still in good driving condition, but it appears this section may be similarly graded early next week.

Please contact the RM of Bjorkdale directly if you have any questions or concerns.

FIRE BAN now in place

As of today, May 14th, the RM of Bjorkdale has implemented a fire ban due to the extremely dry conditions. This applies to the entire RM, INCLUDING the resorts at Marean Lake, and will remain in place until the fire risk is reduced by rain.

Please respect this ban and protect our resort.

2019 MLAC Election

The 3 members of the Marean Lake Advisory Committee each have 3 year terms that are staggered and each year one position is open for election.  Nominations open on May 15th and will be accepted until 4:00 pm May 27th.  Should multiple nominations be received, and election will be held on July 1st.

The continuing involvement of owners from our resort community in this committee is important to the entire resort. Please consider getting involved and putting your name forward.  If you would like any additional information, feel free to contact any of the current members.
